ASL Night – Albany FireWolves
National League Lacrosse
(Albany, NY)
2024

December 14th, the FireWolves hosted the first ASL Night in the National Lacrosse League. Santa delighted fans young and young at heart as he signed and gave out 200 lacrosse stress balls donated by RIT/NTID & treats donated by Hands & Voices of NY. Actor, writer, director, Hillary Baack, beautifully signed our National Anthem and the Canadian National Anthem along side the singer.
The FireWolves created a video with our sign language interpreters signing along side the FireWolves Pregame video. They signed the rules for Lacrosse and other important game information. Hands & Voices of NY generously raffled off 28 tickets to families. Several staff members from RIT/NTID attended our event. The teddy bear toss collected 925 stuffed animals to be donated to Saint Catherine’s Center for Children. Thank you to the EHDI, the FireWolves Organization, especially Michael Preston and Sean Nickelsen our interpreters Amanda Poulin and Barb Webb, Hillary Baack and RIT/NTID for helping to make our event a success. Wishing you and your loved ones a Happy Holiday Season!
