Yoga Event

Families with deaf and hard of hearing children met at Bloom & Breathe Yoga in Rochester, NY. Children and families were invited into the yoga studio for a morning of yoga movement and then some art creation. We had the entire studio to ourselves.

The children and their parents/caregivers engaged in a fun safari sunrise yoga class and then completed a suncatcher mantra/motivational art project. Snacks and drinks were also provided and enjoyed. This space allowed kids to interact with one another (during snack and craft), allowed parents to interact and kept everyone in the same space.

Some families saw friends from school and the community and others met new families and friends. Parents received information about Hands & Voices of NY, and were able to get and give support to each other, sharing stories and or concerns that were happening with their child. Information on how to support communication, movement and regulation was provided to families.
